Glad you could stop in, the coffee is always on in our campsite. Pull up a log, take a cup, and let's talk Scouting.

Subject:Troop 518 Memories

Greetings,Scouts! - My name is Chris Noga and I belonged to Troop 518 from 1982 until 1987. Mr. Lahl was my Scoutmaster. Although I fell short of earning Eagle Scout (six merit badges and a service project), I had the privilege of serving as Senior Patrol Leader for two years and the honor of being chosen as Scout of the Year in 1986. I have so many great memories of those days - cabin camping at Manatoc, Klondike tent camping in the middle of January, a week of summer camp every year at Manatoc culminating in the Friday night ceremonies, games of capture the flag in the Marnoc quarry, Order of the Arrow Ordeal, three years on staff of Brownsea 22 (the last as senior patrol leader - what an honor), cracker barrel skits and songs around campfires...I could go on and on.

Today, I am the Chief of Police for the City of Twinsburg (not too far away from Brunswick, OH). I tell people that most of what I know about leadership and about how to treat and relate to others, I learned as a member of Troop 518. Those lessons have served me well as a police officer and as a police chief. To this day, the Scout Oath and Laws guide my life and I am a better person for having them to guide me. I hope that each of you is able to take the lessons you have and will learn as a member of Troop 518 and use them as a foundation for your lives. I now look forward to the day that my 5 year old son is old enough to join Scouting so I can watch him learn and grow in the Scouting tradition just as I did all those years ago. And remember:

"For these things your heart shall yearn
For these things your soul shall burn
And in the end, friend, you shall learn
That to these things you must return."

Subject:From Troop 518 in Brunswick to Troop 440 in Richwood

Hello there Troop 518. I am the mother of a former Troop 518 Scout (under Scoutmaster Rich Kassouf. Eagle Scout Derrick Hernandez was a good friend of my son's. We had to move away from Brunswick in 1995 before my son, Jarrod, earned the rank of Eagle, so that was a big disappointment, but he is now a CTN (Cryptologic Technical Networker) in the US Navy and is doing very well. He has a family of his own now, including a new baby boy-only three weeks old. Jarrod's little brothers became Scouts here in Troop 440 of Richwood, Ohio. Caleb earned the rank of Eagle in 2003 and Clayton has only six more months until he will turn eighteen. He is busy working toward it, but with school and work besides, it can be overwhelming! Still, he is not giving up! Please lift him up in prayer. His heart was broken when we lost our Eagle... Caleb died at the age of nineteen (19). He's not really lost... We know exactly where he is, but it hurts our hearts so much that we can't see him right now. So Clayton got discouraged without his big brother around, but I know he'll be so proud of himself if makes Eagle. Thanks for your prayers! ~Nejla PS. This is a wonderful Website!

Greeting to all that come to our website. I am Bobby, the ex Senoir Partol Leader of troop 518 and am now the Troop Guide/Assistant Senoir Patrol Leader. We always have great times at our campouts and welcome all who want to join. We meet a St. Marks Lutheran Church on Tuesday night, weather permitted. I am here to help your boys grow up to someday, hopefully reach the rank of Eagle. I am currently about to get my Life rank and will soon be onto my Eagle.
